Kogui, Furniture Collection

Concept

The Kogui furniture collection has its roots in the Pre-Columbian tribe “the koguis“ they have a strong bond with the mother earth and are still current. Following the Kogi’s beliefs, this project was conceived around sustainability and environmental awareness from the beginning.
The essence of the Kogi has been conceptualised and is reflected in this furniture collection in some of the formal features and its green factor spirit. The first Iconic element is the mountain, that appears naturally as the intersection of two pieces. the softened and pointy shapes resemble their material culture, like their hats and architecture. The other iconic element is the tree, which shapes the legs giving them the aspect of a branch becoming a functional element that can be used as a hanger. the Kogui collection is timeless and hard-wearing.
Although is inspired by the crafts, its production is going to use contemporary techniques for mass production.
